Mirnalni Setia obtained her Juris Doctor from the Lincoln Alexander School of Law at Toronto Metropolitan University in 2023. Prior to law school, Mirnalni obtained her Honours B.A. from York University majoring in Law and Society and minoring in Political Science.
Through her practical work experiences during and after law school, she gained knowledge of Indigenous law and Indigenous governance. She brings a unique perspective to her criminal law practice from her wide array of government experiences. Mirnalni also completed a professional placement at the Superior Court of Justice in Toronto.
Mirnalni has gained a true passion for criminal defence through her articling experience where she served disadvantaged clients facing racial, economic and addiction barriers. Now as counsel, she has a drive to help clients find their voice within criminal justice system and be able to exercise their rights and freedoms under the law.
Mirnalni is a member of the Criminal Lawyers’ Association and Toronto Lawyers’ Association.
